One thing I have noticed about avators is that when you get a very pretty blonde, you do get lots of hits. As it happens the content is usually quite good, but try being grey, with a great big mole on your chin, wire glasses and a crooked nose and you just might not get so many. I don't see the point in self clicking to boost a blog, in fact I find it rather sad that some people have no life beyond a website and need to seek approval and attention via the popularity poll of virtual words and pictures. But then I don't see the point of a lot of the goings-on that I have noticed or experienced in my short time on Thoughts. *shrug* I'm still amazed if even one person takes the time to read and comment on my posts or my photography, and I hope that that will always be the case as blogging is not supposed to be about garnering comments.
