 Give Me Stwength!
It never fails to amaze me, the stupid things that will make me laugh uncontrollably.  Some circumstances are just flat out inappropriate for laughter, so I try REALLY hard to contain myself, but I gotta tell ya, it's pretty hard for me sometimes.  I find humour in the oddest places....

So......I'm at work, rooting around under the cash register for I-can't-remember-what.  I pop up, and there, standing before me is the sweetest-looking little old lady I've ever seen.  She smiles her sweet old lady smile, and I smile back.

"Hi, can I help you with something?" I ask.

"Yes pwease," she replies, "I'd wike to wetuwn this."

(I schitt you not!  This is Elmer Fudd's mom!)

While I'm desperately trying to hold on to my composure, she pulls a sweater from the bag she's brought, and places it on the counter.

"Was there something wrong with it?" I ask.

"The sweeves are too wong," she replies.

(I'm shaking, trying soooo hard not to laugh)

"Oh dear!" I snort and attempt to cover it with a truly unconvincing cough.

"Yes," she says, "Why do they have to make the sweeves so wong?  It seems pwetty siwwy weawy."

(I'm pretty sure my tongue was bleeding by now)

"I don't know," I splutter, "Would you like to look for something to exchange it for?"

She looks at it thoughtfully, and says, "No, thank you, I'd just wike a wefund pwease.  I weawy don't undewstand why they have to make the sweeves so wong."

I was in fear of rupturing something vital at this point, but I managed to wefund her money and see her safewy out the door before I expwoded.

Give me stwength!

Too cute Boots, it reminded me of one of my grandmother's old friends, she didn't like to wear her bridge and she was missing her two front teeth. So when she spoke she sounded something similar. Great laugh, just what I needed after a night of doing my own laundry (thought I would save 14 bucks and not send it out tomorrow morning to be done).

:)
