I was talking to a friend of mine today and she just went on and on about the man in her life and how much she loves him and he loves her. I very happy for her and wish them the best.
BUT
I'm by myself and have been for the past 4 years and I realized that I have never been in love. I've been in lust and in like but never love.
Does love consist of that person at you can tell anything to and everything will be fine even things that you don't like about that person, the person that makes you feel safe, the person the will help you at anytime even if it is 4 am and you need to shevel you car out.
I know a few men that will do at least one of those but not all of them.
The last man I dated was looking for a mother, he talked about moving in and me staying at home while he worked and I would do the cooking, cleaning and bill paying and be there for him. HE'S GONE BYE, BYE
The one before that just didn't want to work BYE, BYE
Then there was the guy that I could talk to but when I just wanted to vent about something he felt that he needed to fix the problem. Guys you can't fix everything that guy is gone also.
Will I even know when I fall in Love? What will it look, feel and sound like.
I want to love and be loved by the man that will let me be my silly/happy self. That is ok with my reading, listening to music of all kinds, I want to feel safe. That's it I just want to feel safe and know that my heart will not get broken and I know that life does not go that way you never know what will happen tomorrow.
And yes I can give the same.
I have never said I love you to a man and when I do I know that I will really mean it.
