Wild hairs and dog dishes
Last night was much, much better.  I woke up at 2:30am, EST, which ordinarily would be about the time little Ms. Josie would be waking me up to go pee, anyway, if I was home.  But I went right back to sleep and dreamed a very odd dream.  Thankfully, it wasn't so terrifying in the same way as "the dream", but it was alarming just the same.  I was at Walmart with Scott, and I had lined the little conveyor belt with all these dog food dishes that I was certain were on sale.  He kept telling me they weren't, I knew better, and the end total, get this, was $1,661.68.  How weird that I remember that???  SO, in my dream, I can't possibly show my panic, or start returning about 990 of the dog dishes I don't need, so I take the dog dishes, all the while trying to convince Scott what a deal I had just made, and that was that.   $1600 bucks on dog food dishes.  Nutty.  Hell, Rodney won't even eat from a dog food bowl anymore.  He insists on a saucer, if you can believe that.  I think he's decided a dog food bowl is beneath his standards.

So, I'm in Covington, GA, just outside of Atlanta, which I hate.  I have a meeting in a few hours, and then I fly to Virginia.  Meeting there tomorrow, and then I come home.  I might have another meeting on Friday, but if so, it will be within 45 minutes of my house, so I don't really consider that traveling.

Friday, I'm getting my hair done in an outta the norm way for me.  You can't tell by the pictures I had posted previously because they were a few months old, but my hair is pretty long by my standards.  It probably falls about 5 inches past my shoulders and is thick as hell.  I'm getting the underneath and parts of the front lower layers dyed brown, and the rest of it highlighted with my natural darker blonde color.  Can't decide if it will look cool or ridiculous, but I had a wild hair (no pun intended).  And I'm trying a new stylist.  She does my sister and niece's hair, and my niece is forever getting her hair colored weirdly; it always looks good, but then, she's so adorable, a grass sack and a crewcut would look good on her.  If you remember my previous post about my ambivalence about a continued frienship with "Brad", then you should probably know that Brad's mom has always done my hair.  I love her and she is phenomenal with hair, but the last time I was there, she made several less than friendly comments about me not talking with Brad in so long.

I've been thinking alot about that, as the guilt is driving me nuts.  It seems like the decent thing to do to just call him and tell him why my faith in him was been fractured, and why I'm not pursuing a friendship so much.   But I know him, he won't think he's done anything wrong, he'll blow it completely up, talk crap about my family, and that friends, will open a can of shit there will be no closing.  So, although I really feel like being straight with him is the most noble decision, just going on my merry way is probably the path of least resistance.  It's not like talking it over with him will make a difference, anyway.  SO, there you have it:  my rationale for finding a new hair dresser.  His mom will eventually press for an answer, I will get frustrated and blurt out, "He screwed my mom!" She won't believe it, she'll be standing behind me with both hair color and scissors, and I just don't think anything good can come from that.  Ugh.

Next week is just as tough for me.  I fly out on Tuesday for Maryland, I'll be there on Wednesday, then fly to Birmingham again, where I have 2 back to back meetings on Thursday, then I will drive to Tuscaloosa for a Friday meeting.  That one should be short, thankfully, and then I'll drive back to Birmingham to hopefully catch an early flight home.  I'll be home Saturday, but then need to hit the road again Sunday for a Monday morning meeting in Eastern Ky.  The good thing about this trip is, I'm going to spend Sunday night at Heidi's house.  I'll be exhausted, but can't wait to see my friend.  That leaves me one more week to fit in the 2 other sites I need to hit before I leave for vacation.  I'm really feeling the pressure and I'm completely overwhelmed by everything I need to do.   BUT, once again, to quote my very wise mother, I might as well get glad in the same panties I got mad in......oh, and they are clean, by the way.  If anyone wonders where I get my one-liners, it's from dear ol' Ma.  She's the bomb.  I defy anyone to speak with her for more than 10 minutes and not laugh.  Can't be done.

Okay, I'm out.  Email to check and then hit the shower.

Good grief you're busier than a one armed paper hanger. I'm sure your hair will look great. It's fun changing it up from time to time. Thank God for hair color. Enjoy your day, only nice dreams tonight.

Blue, sounds like you've got a full week on your hands.... as for the new doo ... go for it - it'll grow back right!
I agree with you swapping your hairdressers -that would be too weird.

You are going to be very busy for the next two weeks! Have fun at Heidi's and I would change hairdressers too. The style sounds cute, my friend Jen does the dark brown on the bottom layers and then really light on the top layer and it works for her. Send some pics when you're done.

Definitely send pictures of the new hair. I am a complete wimp when it comes to my hair. My big decision: bangs or no bangs? I have had the same hair, more or less, forever. I just have long layers now instead of all one length. Enough about me!

I can't believe you remembered the cost of the dog food. That's something else, Blue!

Finally, if you truly believe that Brad will never see your side of the story and really acknowledge that he did anything wrong, I agree there is not much point to even going there. Sucks though. I hate people who cannot admit when they screwed up!

I think I will post a picture of the new style...if it turns out cool (BTW, Prelude and Mamacita...thanks for the encouragement...if it looks like crap, I can always wear my Red Sox cap for the next few months!)

Meri, I think I remembered the exact amount because I was so surprised by it!! Now, if I was shopping for, oh, so clothes, that wouldn't be such a shocker, but dog food bowls? WTH???? Still need to check Dreammoods.com.....

Oh, Blue - didn't realize that you were a Red Sox fan. Not sure we can be friends anymore. Just kidding - some of my nearest and dearest friends root for the wrong team and we get along just fine, until the post season at least.

I would play those numbers in any lottery! Interesting dream! I say go for the colors and enjoy the change. Have fun with Heidi and definitely change hairdressers, too sticky a situation. I had to smile about your puppy only eating out of a saucer :-) they are so cute! Safe travels, Blue! XXX
