...I wake up...I'd slept a few hours...feelin rested and suddenly wide awake...I roll over to see Des layin on her side facin me...the blankets pushed mostly to the side...only coverin her middle...her lashes lay gently on her cheeks...her breath ricocheted off my face...as her chest rose and fell in a beautiful rythm...a few strands of her dark hair laid across her face...blockin small pieces of her beauty from my sight...I freed my arm from the blanket and used the tips of my fingers to brush those strands aside...her skin was velvet beneath my touch...softer than I remember it...how can it feel so different than when I touched her earlier...how can it be...I ran my fingers down the side of her face...along her jaw line...then over her lips...just as soft...wow...I traced her face with my hands again...found myself breathin a little heavier...not wantin to wake her...I quickly kissed her forehead...and pulled my hands back..."I love you" I whispered and started to slide outa the bed...her hand caught mine..."I love you more" she mumbled...her eyes still close...and her lips twitched as she tried not to smile...I grinned and leaned forward placin my lips against her ear..."not possible" I breathe..."mmmhmm" is all she replied with...I looked down at her...as I leaned over the bed...watchin her snuggle her face into her pillow and take a few deep breaths before fallin back to sleep...I laughed to myself as I walked towards the bedroom door...she'd caught me admirin her again... |
