 Every Moment Is Precious.
In light of recent happenings here on T.com (the passing of Erika/cancersucks) and in my personal life (the still birth of my first niece and also the passing of my best friend, Mathias) I thought I would post some words from a person that was a real life angel, someone who also lost their life almost twelve months ago, my sister, Sydney (Lalligal).

I wish to share with you this post that Sydney wrote herself...you can read the original here Every Moment Is Precious. ...but I have copied and pasted the body of the blog, minus the music, below.

Every Moment Is Precious.

How often do we choose to see the world through the eyes of an acromat, in grey tones instead the hues of a rainbow? How often do we turn a deaf ear to the sweet melodies of life, choosing to only hear the sombre beat of a bass drum? Sadly, for most the answer is all too often.

I wonder how some people can hear anything good come into their lives when their words, thoughts and/or tears of bitterness are so loud. They are so busy questioning 'Why me?', hanging onto the past, painful memories, laying blame, mouthing words of how they have been wronged that they forget to live. They forget to appreciate all the good things in their life, both past and present--so many precious moments can be lost because we fail to be still and listen, to see.

I am not wishing to trivialize anyone's trials, tribulations, hurts and worries; I know all too well how life can place obstacles on our path through life, but sometimes we are so busy paying attention to those obstacles that we fail to take note of the beauty lining that life path and all too soon it is gone from our sight or grasp. Find the beauty in your life and let that be the focus--be it a child's laugh, a flower, a book, a hobby, a phone conversation with a friend or a simple text message, listening to a song, sharing a meal with family or friends; it is the little things that make up the big picture. Life, make the most of it before it is whisked away in a blink of an eye. We only live once--live gloriously, live with every breath, live with brilliance.

Every moment is precious.

One of my precious moments--Christian [When Love Is Lost To Death] and I after an early morning swim.

My sister was so very right...

sorry, to hear that such inspiration has past away as a glimpse of a fading flower.

Thank you, T3wig, however, the inspiration she instilled and still does in people, did not die with her. She left a wonderful legacy behind. =)

Syd was a remarkable person, she knew how to live life and give back to the world.

Thank you, Universal, hope her words are a blessing to others. =)

It seems to me (in my humble opinion) YOU are a remarkable person also.

Can I play the impertinent teenager card? (I knew there were benefits to being a teenager still)I think you are wrong, I'm far from being remarkable in any way. Thank you, Universal, I do appreciate your generous words, though. =)

You have learned more about caring for people in such a short time. The lessons will serve you well. The important people in your life will always be important. Their memories will be there when you need them.

Yes, thank you, George. Sydney in particular will always be a great influence in my life and the memories of her will never dim. She had many life lessons that people could learn from, including myself. =)

Thank you for sharing this post. It is absolutely beautiful and so true.
The photo is also lovely and both will be treasures you can enjoy forever.
How thoughtful of you to share your feelings with us and allow us to have
a glimpse of your heart as well.

After thinking more about my Jonah post, Syd's post and the message contained within came to mind, as well as the tribute she wrote to her fiance, Christian (read it if you have the time or chance)...I thought how I need to reflect more on the positives of life rather than questioning every little thing, which I have a great tendency to do.

Thank you for reading, Vestiges. I'm glad you found something in Syd's words. And yes, I dearly love the photo of Syd and Christian, they were very much in love and now they are together again.

She was so wise as well as so beautiful. What great memories you have and she will always be alive while so many remember her. I looked at her rose this morning and smiled.

I have a potted white rose in my court yard in remembrance of Sydney and whenever my glance touches it a smile comes to my face and a warmth spreads through my heart rather than the sadness that used to settle...I want to remember the goodness that was, Syd and not concentrate on her not being with us in her earthly guise anymore. =)

p.s. Isn't it so comforting to think of them re-united and now able to welcome the little one?

They had such a strong bond of love between them, it was almost as though they were the same soul, and to know that they are together, their love enduring into eternity bringing complete happiness to the both of them is what makes their losses bearable.

"I think you are wrong, I'm far from being remarkable in any way"

*tentatively answers* Umm...yes, really.

That was lovely and touching. Thank you for sharing such beautiful words with us.

You are so young to have suffered such loss and yet, you were able to share your life with such wonderful people. You are fortunate that you had them and they, equally fortunate to have had you. Your love and devotion shines very brightly as does your genuinely strong and loving spirit.

Beautiful inside and out...a rarety, indeed.
