The darkness of wilderness experience was a test, just like most of us going into an occupation, there is some training required. This was preparation for His ministry. Remember Jesus was fully human filled with the Holy Spirit at his baptism. He was tempted as a man not God, he had to rely on the Holy Spirit to give him the ability to pass the test. Satan, the father of lies quoted the scriptures in a way that was twisted to tempt Jesus. The Holy Spirit gave Jesus eyes to see the lies and fired back with truth that shattered the darkness. God allowed His Son to be the first fruit of victory over temptation and sin to give every follower of Jesus hope that they too can be an over comer with the help of the Holy Spirit. When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time. So of course, the Holy interruption continues to stir the darkness. Light increases, darkness has to move out of the way.
