| Babies First Movements.... |
|
Calum was visiting for some quality time with bump (and me I hope) over the weekend. We bought a heart to heart prenatal listening system in the hope that we would be able to pick up babies heartbeat - though at 22 weeks its still early days for that. It was brilliant, the majority of the weekend was spent lazing in bed with Calum waiting for signs of movement! Its been so long since we have just curled up in bed and watched movies and crappy daytime telly all day - was good to have time to unwind and just be together. Poor Calum was getting stressed out, he had already felt the baby kick before but he always seemed to just miss movements over the weekend. I had excitedly told him that you could now see my tummy move when the baby did so he would stare intently for aaaages.....of course everytime he looked away or blinked baby moved! Poor guy was getting very frustrated! I can understand, must be difficult. It's his baby too yet he doesn't get to properly feel it moving around (to be fair though he also doesnt have to push it out of him...). Every time I felt movement it brought a smile to my face, still does - I can't get over how amazing it is.....and he just kept missing out - bless him. Then last night just as I was drifting of to sleep I felt a couple of small movements.....I grabbed Calums hand and placed it on my tummy....as I did baby suddenly went nuts. Must have been doing somersaults or something! Calum just gasped and sat grinning from ear to ear - for once the boy was speechless!! When he moved his hand he finally got to see movement - the most I've witnessed yet. We decided baby must have been excited about Daddys visit - certainly cheered Calum up!!
