Thankyou - I am only 19 and I can honestly say I have thought things through. We plan to have a long engagement so we arent rushing things too much. I understand the whole - Mothers want whats best for us and I would never hate her for having an opinion. I guess my issue is the best way to tell her?

I don't currently have any tattoos however have been considering getting one for a while now. I was discussing this with my partner and discovered he was against it. i must admit this annoys me - his reasons were as you said that it is unfeminine however the types of tattoo I am likely to pick would look very odd on any man. Although I haven't gone ahead with the tattoo yet I refuse to let my partners opinion hold me back - and I encourage any other woman considering having a tattoo to go for it and ignorethe opnions of those more narrow minded than ourselves.
