Well, it is the back woods, after all.....
Some of my friends are more than a little amused that I'm keeping my chickens in the living room. That strikes them as bizarre until they realize I don't have a chicken coop yet built, and that the chickens are little. Even so, some have started calling me Bearvilly HillBilly.

I kind of like it. It fits.

Earlier today I took one of those little Facebook quizzes where you rank 5 things. In this one, it asked what I would buy if I won a big pot in the lottery. What I realized is that I would buy all the things I already have, only with money instead of debt. I feel lucky to have the things I want in life. I just wish they were paid for. Until taking that quiz, I had been lamenting my situation. Being unemployed and upside down in some things isn't easy. But discovering that all I'd want the money for is just to gain the security of knowing everything is paid for and that there's an income stream that will pay the bills helps me set priorities.

I've been stewing on this for some time and think I have a plan worked out. It doesn't leave me much to work with. Chickens and eggs will help. Not counting them until they hatch is more difficult.

In this life, probably only the lottery could ever give me the money of the Beverly Hillbillies. Like so many other suckers, I still plunk down a buck for a ticket from time to time. I suppose one never knows when lightning might strike. I don't count on it, but it doesn't hurt to be in the game. I recognize I'm not going to be a billionaire, or probably even worth millions, on my own. That's ok. If I have a life I enjoy, that's enough.

There are some possible employment opportunities in the wings. Fingers crossed, but planning for the long haul.
