| Memories Fly by at the Speed of Life. |
I was looking over some old photos on facebook and it occurred to me... Time moves fast.
When you're in the moment, afternoons can skip by, or maybe go incredibly slowly. What's funny is that we (the current generation of teens) take so many pictures on our phones or cameras that we can re-live almost every moment of a good night.
The guy being sick in the toilets.
The guy who flashed the girls in his halloween costume.
The guy who forgot to wear a halloween costume.
And even the creepy guy who just didn't wear anything.
In two years we grow so much that we can forget who we are, who we were, and why we behaved like that. These pictures... Allow us to live the moments the day after. Not re-live them. But actually live them. Teens are so obsessed by how they look all the time they take hundreds of pictures in a night, deleting ones where they look, "outrageous", so they look happy all the time. They don't delete that one picture with the guy in the background, who is not enjoying the party. When you look these pictures over, you notice him... But why does he look so happy when the camera is on him in the other photos?
The people in the foreground are posers. The people in the background show something real, which is easily captured when you're offguard... But hard to cover when you know the lens is on you.
Aging is such a rapid process, and sometimes we think it's too slow because we live life in the fast lane... Always wanting to get to the next step. Only when we get to the next step do we look back and think, "wow, that was years ago now, feels like just yesterday, oh well, let's get to the next new step". When we reach that next step we look back again and think... I wish I'd taken my time, because now it's too late.
