| table manners |
Hi. I'm blogging today because I have a gripe. is it just me or can everyone else deal with it when others do not use proper table manners? I'm forced to sit in front of another person almost day in and out who would rather grasp a juicy piece of steak in his hands and proceed to chomp at it. Now this is one thing, and I guess I can deal with this but what I find most peculiar about this situation is that he would rather use a fork and knife for his grilled cheese sandwich. But I guess thats not even the most perplexing thing when it comes to eating with someone that doesn't use proper table manners. I'm a guy so I personally don't mind the burping or farting that goes on at the table however I always keep it to a minimum and if I do let out a little belch I minimize the noise and always excuse myself. The one thing that really gets to me however is when someone chews with there mouth wide open. It makes me so furious that I want to take their food and shove it into their face. Not only do I have to endure the sight of your food being mashed into clumps in your mouth but the sound of gums slurping up and down just pisses me off. I try to be nice and give hints in a joking manner but of course that never works because the person can probably barely hear me over their food. The other bad habits don't bother me nearly as much, even if you eat like a savage at least I don't have to hear you eat and if i happen to look at you I don't get a sight full of mush. So please be considerate if you are eating with someone or in public, first of all things chew with your mouth closed so that someone clear across the room doesn't have to hear you eat, there is no need to broadcast the fact you are stuffing your face. Second utilize the proper utensils when they are designated to be used, mankind didn't make forks, spoons and knives because they look pretty. Thid, keep quiet when you eat, conversation is fine but remember not to talk with your mouth full, that would violate rule #1. If you need to burp keep your moth closed and bring your forearm to your mouth to mum the sound. Lastly, we are not trying to grind down our teeth, we are not dogs. If we were supposed to dull our teeth then we would also chew on bones. This is something that truly does bother me. If this is something that pisses you off as well comment this blog.
