 The Paper
Today, for some reason, I found myself reading the news paper during lunch time. It was so interesting! So action-packed! I wouldn't believe it if anyone told me it's always like that... But anyways, I made that remark to my father, and he asked me why it was so interesting, what I found so thrilling...

And there were loads of exciting happenings!!! A new regenerative therapy for soon-to-be-transplanted-lungs, a new treaty between Costa Rica and China to get cheaper meat, a new agreement with some swiss airline in our airport, a shooting in a mall and it went on, but my dad stopped me there and said "But hasn't that shooting been coming out all week?". I didn't know, honestly. So he detailed a bit on the story and I soon found it WAS, in fact, that same shooting...

I wanted my dad to tell me about it, so I could save myself the reading, but decided to let him finish eating his lunch in peace.

The article was not very long, nor very detailed, thank goodness...
It talked about a confrontation between a couple jamaicans in the mall, who happened to be armed and started shooting at each other. When, suddenly, a girl who had nothing to do with either of those men, died instantly, when a deviated bullet went through her forehead.

I was amazed when I read that! That poor girl didn't stand a chance!!!

She was innocently walking by... Possibly to some late class in a nearby college. Possibly to work so she could pay for a decent location, or home to see her parents and dine with them, or anywhere! She could've been worried, or sad, or angry  when that bullet turned that feeling into her last!!! Who knows how many people she left behind... How many friends and family members...

It could've happened to any single person in that crowd. One of my sisters could've been walking by in that exact moment... It could have been THEIR heads blown into bits! THEIR rooms we'd be boarding up and emptying!!!! It could have been anyone!!

That poor girl... She was only 20 years old.

It's just incredible to me!! A single moment, and she was done. Had she stopped walking a step earlier, she could still be alive!! Or she could've tripped and caused someone elses head to blow instead of hers... Had she forgotten where she was going and taken a pause, even hours before she crossed that exact spot, and it could've changed her whole story!!!

I just saw, for the first time in sooo long, that every moment I live COULD BE my last. Every single thing I decide to postpone could be left undone! Anything I do wrong and decide to fix later, could be left broken for the rest of time...

I am even in more awe then I was when i first read it.
I just feel like I have so many things to do!! Lol

God bless you all, and I hope you DO live every moment as your last!!!

I enjoyed reading this blog about an awakening. Nice change from the recent blogs of folks here (young and old) who write like they text. Well-written, AZ.
