| My Get Away from the City. |
I’ve been gone on a hiking/rock climbing/hunting trip with my fiancé and a friend of mine. All the talk about hunting in the General forums made the trigger finger itch x). It’s been so long since I’ve seen pure mountains and breathed clean air. Actually got dizzy after getting out of the polluted city state limits. The first day we had fun just exploring and hunting, my buddy Earnest got an amazing kill. We didn’t bring any guns just used our traditional bow and arrows we had since we were kids growing up. Me and my fiancé chased a deer toward Earnest, he was tucked under a dead tree and when the deer was overhead. He drew his bow and shot it right in the chest, it fell to the floor and he quickly took out his army knife and slit it’s through. Earnest and I dragged it back to our little camping grounds and we started cleaning it while Rayleen prepared a fire to cook the meat. We cooked a good amount and then jerked the rest so we can take it with us while we walked to the next resting grounds near the mountains cliff.
There’s a nice river near there that feels so good when you hop in, it’s nice and cold after a hot day. We brought some water with us but I still set up some water to be purified, it’s not that hard you just need some cloth and sunlight. It was a just in case measure, last time one of my friends fell while rock climbing and he broke his arms. It was suppose to be me and him going on this trip but there is always next year to make up for it, plus I’ll just save him some deer jerky xD.
On day two we climbed up the side of the mountain it was nice, first to avoid what has occurred before me and Earnest stayed below and held on to the rope while Rayleen climbed to the top with our food, then it was me and Earnest with water. I always loved climbing cliffs and mountains it’s fun. I don’t know how to explain it, it just makes you feel alive. You set time and thoughts free from that cage that everyday life captures.
Everyday you just get so use to a routine, your mind and spirit just fades into that routine and you forget about it.
It’s nice with out cars and money getting in the way of things, it’s so simple and amazing. I liked the night time, we all just stayed around the fire and talked.
We joked about building a cabin there but it’s just not the same if you sleep indoors. Its nice going this time of year, there isn’t many bugs to bug you.
It was funny because it was Rayleens first time camping and doing those things and when it came down to using the restroom she was all “Where do I go!? And how do I go!”. Roflmaoh!!! Hahahahaha!, we just busted out laughing and said “You know how to squat” ^_^ *wink wink hint hint*.
Even though it was her first time doing all these things she was good at it, very well coordinated. I feel it brought us closer together,
I felt mesmerized by her, when we were by the lake she was standing at the edge and just putting her feet in. I got close to her and pushed her in but she grabbed my shirt collar and dragged me with her. It was fun.
Today when we were packing up to head home I felt so sad, I didn’t want to come back into town and smell the city but the world runs on money. Tomorrow I fly out to New York again for a three day meeting, then to California for another meeting.
I was considering calling in sick, saying I have anal blindness. What’s that you ask?, it’s when I don’t see my ars going into work that day x) but there are always responsibilities to keep.
I’ll just plan a get away month or two for next time.
