I know that you people only know me on-line and don't know my whole life story. I'm not sure if I've posted a blog about my father and don't feel like going back and looking. Anyway, if I haven't and if you don't know...my dad was a really bad alcoholic since the time I was a kid up until I was 17. My dad killed himself with Vodka and sleeping pills in 2004.
Now, I don't know what you people view as an alcoholic. To me, it's someone who cannot function without it and it interferes in their family life and with their work. My dad pretty much drank from the time he got up until he passed out. He would get drunk at work as well. He couldn't live without alcohol.
Why have I raised this point? Because I was drunk last night and was talking on MSN to a friend of mine. So, there I was, drunkenly typing away and she blurts out, "And you tell me you're not an alcoholic." I had to log off before I went off on her. Until you live with an alcoholic, you don't accuse me of being one, understood? This came from the girl who would piss and moan and say how she wishes her dad would stop drinking beer all the time. Her dad never got drunk. My dad opened a bottle of Vodka every night and drank it until it was gone and he couldn't walk straight. I had gotten into physical confrontations with my father at nine years old. So, fuck you. You don't know what an alcoholic is, how dare you call me one? I drink two days out of the week, if that. I do not need it to function at all. Yes, I did have a beer at work one night and got fired because of it, but I learned my lesson after that and it has not happened again.
So, seriously, go to hell.

You have a valid point! People are always exaggerating!! just because some people are social drinkers, or get drunk once every blue moon, it doesn't mean they are alcoholics.

My mom is an alchy too. She has been everysince I can remember. That is why my dad took custody of me when I was 3 years old. She is still drinking her life away as I am sure she will continue to as she goes on living. I am sorry to hear about your dad. You know alchol is a disease, the only way alcholics can get help is if they want it.

I don't think I'd ever want to piss you off. And saying that...your 'friend' on msn deserved the rant you just gave.
