 Anotatoism... seeing "god"
It is what every "true" believer wants to be able to do, that is... to see "god". Even though their faith is deep rooted into their minds and "souls", to see "god" is what they desire most. Many, over the millenniums, have proclaimed to see "god" and from their visions, religions have been born.

In their minds, they truly have seen "god". In scientific terms what has happened is a... "hypersensitivity to the possibility". Sounds like some Ivy League mumbo-jumbo, but the reality is... if you truly want to see "god", your mind will see him. (the simplistic explanation)

Man in times of great stress and alienation, have a tendency to seek what is considered the "supernatural" or "divine". The worlds largest religion came to be during such a moment in ancient history. As those who were in control began to lose more and more control of their empire, this religion became the state religion and was forced upon all the people and somewhat of a normalization occured. With a false calmness setting in over the empire, the religion was given credit for the unifying end result. Today, the firm believers will say, it was "god's" divine will that this religion should be the largest. In reality, the military and political might behind the religion grew it to what it is today... nothing to do with "god's divine plan".

It is being proven more each day that the human mind seeks what is not normal to answer or understand what the mind cannot comprehend. Psychics can talk to the dead, there are ghost sightings all the time, "god" sends signs in the form of a "virgin" appearing everywhere including on potato chips. The mind fills in the gaps of what it cannot comprehend, as did the scribes fill in the blanks of certain "holy" documents that today people believe as fact. It is all "hypersensitivity to the possibility"... man's endless search for divine hope.

Anyone can see "god", even those who do not believe in a "god". It depends on what the particular mind wants to see and believe. I do not believe in any kind of spirit existence and yet, I have seen my dead dad a half dozen times. The difference is that I know it is my mind filling in the blank of a personal need and not some psychic, supernatural, or divine intervention... most people don't. The mind, a part of the existence gift, given from the beginning of our universe... use it wisely.

In your blog you said "The mind, a part of the existence gift, given from the beginning of our universe... use it wisely." If you don't believe in God how do you believe the universe was started and who gave us the existence gift?

Interesting blog but not my beleive because I believe in God but don't long to see him because I believe he lives in me, renews my mind and transforms my heart.

Thanks for the thoughts!

To Savedsoul,

I have followed this blog from about posting 3. In Anotatoism, it is the "Anotatos" that allows all things the ability to exist. You call your higher power "God", sort of the same thing. It is great that your belief is that your God is in you, because in Anotatoism everything is made from energy which the Anotatos is, so the Anotatos would also be in anyone who follows this belief. I may be wrong and the writer of this blog can correct me, but the Anotatos could equate to your God, only remove all the human type of characteristics. Interesting comment though SS about not longing to see your God. Nice comment.(An Anotatoist is not an Atheist... I believe)

The Anotatos is the "Life Force" behind all existence. The Anotatos gives everything we consider living and non-living the experience to exist, what we do with the experience is up to us. The Anotatos does not detroy what is created, does not cause good or evil, does not require worship, sacrifice, or tests his creations. These are things that man feels he must do to keep their "gods" happy. The Anotatos is a pure entity without gender. The Anotatos is a part of us and we are a part of the Anotatos. It difficult to understand why man needs so many rituals and sacraments to feel close to their higher power. Anotatoists know it from within their minds... a part of the gift of existence. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and comments.

Our God loves us and has shown that love througn the sacrifice and resurrection of his son. It is this love and joy for God that makes us want to fellowship with God through prayer and worship not a requirements but feelings of love for our God. My God is faithful and righteous and all powerfull and we Christians believe that we must be rightious and faithfull back which involves the truth. The truth shall set you free and allows your sin to be forgiven so that his Holy Spirit which lives in us guides us by our heart and free this life from sin. You see we really believe that no man can live by the 10 commandments on his own he must have his Holy Spirit so that God's laws are written on our hearts and that comes from confession of our sin and repentence of our lives. Then we to can love others (everyone we believe is made in the image of our God)no matter who they are and can serve them as God would want us to.

Hope that helps to clarify our God and the fact that we Christians love our neighbors as we love God even if we seem misguided at times.

Yes interesting blog in that it makes me think through my faith so that I feel it has been strengthened, which is not putting down your believe but in fact is encouraging me in mine.

Be Blessed

SS I hope your God gives you peace of mind and fills your inner energies. I am glad you are happy with the religion of your choice... You do not need to explain Christianity to me or your God, I was raised Christian, but found the truth of existence in the Anotatos. Live in happiness

Ok I appreciate you have rejected my God and yours of past, what I don't understand is how you make a statement that we think we must do ritualistic things to keep our god happy? My answer above was just info as to why we do it and not because we just think we should. After all why would God need me to keep him happy?

Oh by the way my God does give me peace and joy, thanks!

Peace

Interesting and nice

However on the topic of thinking

When we are not able to see the goodness in another and more importantly in this world, what makes us feel the we can or may or could see God.

Is it not said

We have been created in the image of God. How blind are we.

Perception my friend changes Knowledge which inturn affects beliefs, all bundled within our experience and all there for us to see.

We live in this world, but we do not realise that this world exist in our own mind

For God so loved the world, that she gave it to his beloved son (you) in whom, he is well pleased. ....And we piss it off, judging :-)

If I said there are a 1000 worlds existing in this moment on earth would I be correct. Your world, my world, his world, her world.

Would it be right to state that I am in God rather than God is in me, would this give me a better chance to cope in life rather than the useless idea of protecting someone who needs no protection :-)

Be well and in Peace

"We have been created in the image of God. How blind are we."

Right on point ! Thanks for this comment as you are correct this answers the original question.

"Would it be right to state that I am in God rather than God is in me"

I like this statement because oneness with God is what the triune God of Christainity is all about. I would change the word "rather" to "and" .

"Perception my friend changes Knowledge"

Only mans knowledge changes but Jesus came to earth to testify to the truth and thats the same then, now and in the future.

"We live in this world"

True but we Christians are not of this world but of the spirtual realm of God.

Thanks for this thought provoking post !

Be Blessed Everyone

I am going to sneak back in here and say a little. I hope this does not insult anyone, because I do respect everyones own belief whether I agree with it or not. I do believe it was written that man was created in the image of God...not said, just a technicality. So if you could see God... would he be in the shape of a man or a woman? I believe if by your saying you are in God, then all things visible and invisble are also in God... sounds a bit Anotatoist, if you understand the belief. So if everything is in God... is he a tree, rock, water? I do not see God being anything but an non-gendered all powerful Entity. (Also very Anotatoist)Remember that the made in God's image statement was written well before the "Current Event" by probably a man of non-scientific background. It was his way of connecting with his higher power. To take this statement literally (I am not saying that everyone does) is a bit of a misconception. Many religions describe their God as a man because of what is written in ancient documents. I would hope that modern man has a better view of what God may look like...then the view of ancient man. I sure am enjoying all the comments and am glad to see such an active participation from many view points. As said in Anotatoism (I am contemplating this belief) Greet with Happiness and Depart with Happiness.

May your God bless you for your faith

To Quietman

I cannot answer your question, But to claim that the image is fleshy or bodily is again a barrier of human perception

Here, is my example of image of God on a scientific note

Air - we breathe it, we use it, we cannot see it, yet we believe in it.

If you have claimed man and women are different from each other, then your correct in your statement

But scientifically take each cell of man and each cell of a women and line is up side by side each other and then show me the difference.

The belief of a higher power does not matter to me really, if one does its fine, if one does not its fine. What matters is how have we made such concepts whereby we have claimed our knowledge is ours. Even your statements are based on science and science is the other end of religion which will someday make a complete circle only for mankind to recognise the stupidity in which they live their lives in ignorance.

Knowledge and Belief will always reinforces each other and there is nothing incorrect about it. But to be stuck in ones knowledge is simply a sign of maturity.

Children are the most knowledgable, they don't know anything. And yet see them, the way the live, the energy they have, the zest and quest to see, feel and experience things. Perhaps it is our own knowledge that gets us all wired topsyturvy.

It is no wonder that most religious scriptures say that dont eat from the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil as it leads to judgement, but rather eat from the tree of life which is the eternal moment on NOW.

But then again, to be radical in such thinking means either to kill yourself which is your beliefs or to get killed by others who won't change their thinking.

To me God is like a coin. One one side is what is called LOVE and on the other side is what is called Hate. The God in the coin is the metal, the impression on either side is irrelevant. Be the metal and not the side of the coin :-)

Quietman, thank you for your 'thoughts'. All of this has been fascinating. The Anotatos belief is perfect for me. I've searched my entire life to find a religion. Completely frustrated with all the same non answers they gave to me. I've never felt so at peace with myself now that I've found this 'belief'. Thank you!
Oh and 'savedsoul'... your god?

Live well and stay happy.
