(I have never this said in one blog devoted to this.)
I am pro-choice. Any reason for abortion is a good reason. Who are we to choose what is or is not right for another individual? We are strangers. I don't think a fetus is a child until it is has been born. That is when it is a person and a human being with rights that should be protected. I can't imagine how it would feel to be forced to carry a pregnancy to term by someone who has no idea who I am or what I am feeling. The fetus doesn't feel pain or have emotions but I do. I think emotions are something that we learn from other humans.

I completely agree, I recently went through that decision and although lots of people didn't agree it was definitely the right thing to do. You shouldn't bring a child into the world if you can't support/look after or don't want it. What life would they have if you were forced to have them and always regretted it or laid the blame on them.

yes, its true. nobody has the right to tell you have to have a child you dont want to have. thre are enough unwanted childtren in the world. I like the point about learning emotions from other people. it makes a good point.i like the issues you write about.

Oh gosh. I love you. I love people who actually makes decisions on this subject, and make the right one, or what I believe to be the right one. My friends wouldn't fancy an intellectual conversation with me on any subject. The only thing you can get nearly everyone to talk about intelligently is music. Sorry, random thoughts...
Please forgive my totally uncalled for comment, I just feel very strongly about this subject and I feel it's great to find other people who do too. This is also to sarah and bite_me, if they read this.
Thanks for putting up with the comment.

So my baby might have Down's Syndrome...should I abort it?
I can hear a heartbeat and see it suck on it's thumb in an ultrasound. That's not a real person?
I can see the facial features of the man who helped me create this child in an ultrasound and I can see myself in this baby too...still not a real person to you?
It's a good thing your mother was pro-life.

Q:So my baby might have Down's Syndrome...should I abort it?
A: If that is what you want and what you feel is best for you and your family, then yes.
Q.I can hear a heartbeat and see it suck on it's thumb in an ultrasound. That's not a real person?
A. No a person (IMO) is someone who is born and that can survive outside of its mothers body. Though it may need some existence if it is taken from its mother body he/she will not die.
A.) I can see the facial features of the man who helped me create this child in an ultrasound and I can see myself in this baby too...still not a real person to you?
A.) You want this baby so there is no way I or anyone else can compare your pregnancy to that of the person that does not want to be pregnant.
It's a good thing your mother was pro-life.
My mom is pro-choice. :) She CHOSE to have me and supports a woman’s right to choose when to become a mother.

i agree and then dont. I dont think you should have sex if your arnt going to accept the responsiblitlies. But then again, its an option some states have allowed...so its a freedom given to us. I say, if you r pregnant and dont want to be...its your mistake for having sex, but u have a chance to fix that mistake...
its both good and bad

asteffy07:
I simply look at it like this: reverse the situation and see how you would like it. How would you feel if you were FORCED to have an abortion? Wouldn't you be pro-choice then?
While I personally can think of no circumstance where I would consider an abortion, I would never try to take away the choice of someone else. After all, I'm not the one who would have to live with the decision.

There is no reverse. Once a fetus has a heart beat, it is definitely a person.
You have a heart beat, right?
Fetuses a.k.a. children, can smile and even dream at 16 weeks according to some research. Have you ever even seen what they do to babies that are aborted? They rip them, limb from limb and then suck 'em out with a medical grade vaccum cleaner basically.
Now, if something can smile and dream and move away from bright lights when it's mother shines a flashlight on her belly, you're going to tell me that because it can't "survive" on the outside yet that it's not a real person?
I think you all have some serious waking up to do. Once a fetus has a heart beat, it is a person. Period.

16 weeks? Most abortions happen in the first 9 weeks. And yeah I know what they do to the "babies".
Here is a picture of an 8 week abortion:

This is when most abortions take place:

Where are your facts at? I know a fetus at 17 weeks can hear though or has the ability to do so at least.
