Today, January 22 is the 35th anniversary of the Supreme court decision, Roe v. Wade. This decision made abortion legal in the USA-a great victory for women's rights. But since Bush has became president this right- and all reproductive rights are under attack. Your right, your children’s rights, your nieces, cousins, aunts, friends rights are under attack. Their ability to make decisions when it comes to sex and reproduction is under attack. Most of all, their sexuality is under attack. This is much as a war on women as it is on sex.
Being pro-fetus is being anti-woman- you can't be pro-both. When you force a woman to surrender her body to a woman you have became anti-woman. Nothing has the right to take over her body without her consent and consent to sex is not the same as consent to pregnancy. One CAN be ready to have sex but NOT ready to be a parent. Adoption takes care of not wanting to be a mother, but it doesn't take care of not wanting to be pregnant. Women of all walks of life- all ages for that matter choose abortion on a daily basis. Most of which already have children. Before abortion was legal women where going to desperate measures to abort a pregnancy and this lead to many deaths. Legal abortion is very safe, illegal isn't at all.
Some have the opinion that if you where raped or in case of fetal/mother health abortion should be allowed, but if you chose to have sex you should be forced to have the kid. This penniless sex and turns women into worthless incubators. This has nothing to do with the fetus- it is about punishing female sexuality.
It is my personal belief that all children should be brought into the world by a loving woman that wants them, or at least wants to give them life. Sometimes abortion is the all over best choice for everyone involved.
I am pro-choice and I hope for the sake of all the women you know, you are too.
