I've worked and worked and worked some more.
Finally! I have some time off - I requested 3 days off to kick off the summer with my sons. My sister is also happy about this, as I have been babysitting her two children as well - but it's all good since my son's love having their cousins over.
Yesterday, the five of us spent the entire day at the beach, and of course our puppy came along. It was so peaceful.
I found a "hook" in the island we went to where there was no waves, just calm water. This gave the children, myself and our puppy the perfect oppertunity to swim in the saltwater without being beaten up by the waves.
We built sandcastles, caught a couple of jellyfish, ran from crabs and talked about what super powers we wished we had. *Remeber, I was with a bunch of kids! *
It was so wonderful to be with them; getting to know them all over again,...listening to their thoughts, and dreams. . . . just playing.
On the way home everyone was wiped out and slept while I drove. I was exactly what my heart needed: contentment.
When we got home I fixed everyone some ice cream.
Tonight, we are having a sleep over.
The house is all ready, not to mention the refridgerator!
We're going to lay the sleeping bags down in front of the TV and watch movies with popcorn all night - or at least until these kids pass out.
I enjoy work just fine, but it gives me something to have a house full of my family. I also really enjoy being the "homemaker".
Hope your enjoying the beginning of the season as much as we are!
