My problem is that some people are claiming to be addicted to sex. Addicted, meaning a compulsive desire and "need" to have sex, and the withdraw of the aforementioned addiction will cause withdrawals of some kind affecting the nuerological stimulus of the brain. Now as a guy, and according to scientific studies on male thought processes and hormones I believe that Men for the most part think about sex much more than women. I further make the assumption that with increased thoughts about sex there is a much greater chance of that individual being able to be classified as a sex addict. Meaning that the most likely candidates for an addiction to sex would be men, sexually-active or frustrated men at that as well.
Now the reason I have a problem with people claiming to be sex addicts is that in the recent event in society where a girl who was kidnapped for 18 years and forced to have TWO children with one of her captures. His defense as proposed by the media, which I regard as illegitimate but still they might have some actual truth to their testimony, is that he is a sex addict. Now to explain the legitamacy of the claim further the man was BEFORE kidnapping the girl a convicted sexual offender. In other words, the man was proven in his past to be out of control of his hormones, and could not control himself from doing explicit and unethical acts. My question(s) is that can someone's claim to be an sex addict or any other addict excuse them of unlawful acts,or allow them to be judged on a lighter scale with those who claim the insanity defense? Should this man for doing so unethical be sent to jail, death row, a county mental hospital, or what?
Any other information or corrections with the case would be appreciated! I do not want to spread ignorance, so if I was unclear or just wrong in some area please point out the misinformation immediately.
Have a good day,
