I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

I love this poem. Such a wonderful reminder. It really helps me to redirect my priorities. Every once in awhile it comes around in my email, usually by the person who brought me to Christ many years ago. How many times have we said, "I don't have the time?"

Thank you, Kim! I've kept it as a reminder to myself!
When I think of how much better my day goes WITH prayer, I really cannot afford NOT to pray!
Blessings! :)

Amen and Ouch! I'm feeling so overwhelmed that I'm having a hard time praying but I know if I prayed I wouldn't be so overwhelmed! We are having a "prayer throwdown" Friday night to try to get something to break here. Please keep us in mind. My house is under a great weight of depression, oppression, addiction and despair. Please pray that those spirits are cast out in Jesus' Name!

I sure will!.....In Jesus' name!!!
I think we all have times of struggles with praying, but, we just have to try and pick ourselves up and press on....you know, stir up the gift that is in us!
I know oftentimes, it's easier said than done, but, little by little, step by step, with God's help, WE CAN OVERCOME!!! :)

I am humbled. Thanks for reminding me too. When I have had my challenges He has ALWAYS answered. His power be with you all, always.

lilhenry54: Thank you! I'm glad this poem moved you to pray! We love it when people compliment us, give us praise, and spend time with us!.....So it is with Jesus!....He loves it when we spend time with Him!!! :)
