This is my 1st attemp at a realish looking 3D freestyle Photoshop portrait - It took me around 1 day to achieve... 24 hours... I'm pretty stoked about how it came out...

I didn't sketch this time and just put the pieces together - layer by layer.

There's something so inspiring about fantasy are for me - I especially love art that's a little Dali inspired (Surreal)... I know there are all kinds of debates about what is classifiable as art (since computers came out - computer generated art versus real techniques and canvases) -
but the way I see it is since "The Urinal" and dadaesque era - that anything that is made can be considered art right?

With Photoshop and Painter you have all the tools an artists would have just with a mouse or tablet instead of a pen and brush... You have the same range of colours available (if not wider) the only place I could see as "Cheating" would be "ctrl z" to undo any errors - where as if you have a canvas or paper and the paint is down, there is nothing you can do to rectify it, other than reworking the area.

I have a great deal of respect for both genre though - and for me anything that takes time, imagination and passions to complete is art.

We're having a bad couple of days reached our first "molehill" as a couple - both our cars brokedown at the same time - so we've had a busy and depressing week... Can't wait for the weekend, going to collect out costumes now!!!
