| Money or a Man |
Today I figured out why a woman should have money or a man. I had a busted water pipe that was shooting up like a majestic fountain....so putting on my " Just Do It Glove" ..I convinced myself to stick my hand down into the water meter hole to turn the water off......Good job...I'm proud of myself since I live close to a snake and turtle filled pond. There could have been something in there...
So I'm out in the 100 degree sunny day armed with my trusty shovels and I start digging. I got maybe two feet into it when I figured out that the job was not going to be as easy as I thought . I spied a "T" connection with a pipe headed out to somewhere.....so after digging about an hour, I had to take a cool-off break but not before I found out that the pipe was my main water line into the house.
Ok, back to work.....no problem...after all the water is turned off...right.....so I cut into the pipe and find a steady stream of water.(we all know what happens when you cut into something with running water in it ....YES....shower time and it is always in your face) What to do???? I rush to the phone and put in a call to my son who is 300 miles away and at work of course. He starts telling me how to handle the problem....just go to the hardware and get some glue that you use when the pipe is wet,,,,no big deal MOM!!! I am such a sucker.
I cut and glue that stupid pipe at least three times resulting in two more face shower before I totally blew a gasket. Of course this is seven hours later.....so I hope GOD will forgive me for my language. I called my son again only this wasn't his sweet MOM calling...this was his MOM from Hell....his advise this time.....turn the water cut-off valve off and on real fast a few times the turn it off real hard. It worked.
Cut and Glue...again...now I'm writing this to pass the time until 10 PM at which time I will find out if it worked.
Of course ....If I had money...I would have hired a plumber at the one hour mark and if I had a man....I wouldn't have even worried about it to begin with!!!
