| Men Vs. Women |
Women are amazing creatures. We're complicated, loving, hateful, nurturing, spiteful, jealous, thoughtful, enduring .... during our lifetimes, we go through a rainbow of emotions! How can men really understand us, it's impossible!
There are days I wake up wondering what my day will be like because the one prior was such a rollercoaster. I'm thankful for a new day actually, glad to be able to 'start over' on those occasions. For example ...
One day I'll tell my husband, "I don't care what we have for dinner, I just wish you'd make the decision for me" while the next day I'll say, "Why didn't you ask me what I want for dinner? Maybe I have a preference!" When all along, my husband could usually care less if I make all the decisions so he could just go along for the ride!
In fact, there are many times when I wish I was him! Men in general, I feel, have it so easy. Men are forgiven for lapses in judgement, they are satisfied with uncomplicated relationships, they make it known what's important to them and they can (most of the time) do whatever makes them happy, without any feelings of guilt or consideration for others. Of course, that's extreme and isn't the case all the time, but I do see it play out daily in my household, with the smallest things. For example ....
I can sit in my living room with my husband and try to watch TV, but my mind wanders:
- I wonder if he's okay watching this show? maybe he'd like to watch something else
- the floor is dirty, I should clean it
- dinner time will approach soon, what should I plan for?
- when's the next time the kids need a nap, and what can I get done in the mean time?
- isn't our bedroom dirty? oh yeah, I need to do laundry and the master bath tub needs cleaning
In the same instance, my husband can be sitting right next to me, fully engrossed in the TV alone! I wish I could do that!
