Just A Thought:  OG’s to New Fools?

      Why didn’t the Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams, Ricky ‘Freeway’ Ross, Lorenzo ‘Fat Cat’ Nichols, Leroy ‘Nicky’ Barnes, Chambers Bros., Kenneth ‘Supreme’ Griffith, and so many others use their minds to build legitimate legal business instead of destructive organizations? They would truly be heroes in the black community and inspiration to the masses. Society viewed them as ignorant killers, but ignorant is the wrong word to use when describing these men. Misguided yes, neglected definitely I prefer entrepreneurs. They made something out of nothing. Anyone can see why they did what they did back then, but nowadays I see no need for us to head down that road. Not when there’s so many ways to build an empire.
      It’s 2006 and there are still youth who think they can get rich off of selling drugs, and it’s not until they start hustling that they realize there is no road to glory only a dark colder sac. I’m pretty sure every last true gangster is remorseful and against everything they did or are doing. But what it all comes down to is this; we are 90% or more a product of our environment. What really puzzles me is why our government runs around snatching up small black pawns while letting Kings, Rooks, and Bishops lay back getting fat in there palaces. Why not build a dam at the source and cut off the flow of an over powering river of drugs. Who’s truly to blame when there are still products of Reaganomics running around even in 2006. Heavy Racism and extreme poverty drove original gangsters to sell drugs and kill each other, but what was driving us to do it today. I guess it’s like asking for someone who’s born with everything to understand someone born with nothing. Kind of like how silver spooned government elected officials say they relate to the people they represent in Congress, (the poor people they represent).
