What really goes on in NYC in your 20's
I'm not even sure where to begin really... I moved to NYC just about a year ago. My personal life was in ruins. I caught the man I was in love with cheating on me and I was devastated. I was bartending in a restaurant where the kitchen staff bragged about their arrest records and tried to sell me drugs as I picked up my spaghetti platters.Instead of food specials they had drug specials. On Mondays you could get a $20 bag of "nose candy", Tuesdays was weed etc... A girl I worked with stole my wallet when she was cracked out one day. I got her arrested, but I never saw my money again. My life consisted of going to work, going out to drink after work, going to the after party until the sun came up, passing out on my best friends couch because I was too fucked up to drive home, and then waking up to do it all over again. I finally decided to just basically run away! I've loved New York since I was a kid watching Breakfast At Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn. I had this idea about New York. It was romantic and exciting and glamourous. I had visited a few times before with family when I  growing up and I was in Love. What better city is there to move to when you are in your 20's and you're moving alone. I knew three people in New York when I got here. The first was a guy from back home that I used to drink and Party with. The second was a director that I worked with on a short film(we had a weird connection that I will explain later) and the third was a guy that I slept with while working on that film. My first week in NYC was exciting but scary. I was searching for an apartment and a job, but mostly I was ignoring the important tasks to find good bars to hang out in.  I did find a job in a little bistro, and I found a bar that nearly ruined my life. In my first week I had defeated the purpose of moving. I just found new bars and new people to party with.
